- Glaucoma – damage to the optic nerve which occurs when pressure and fluid build up in the eye
- Hyperopia – a condition in which the vision of objects at a close distance is not optimal; also called farsightedness
- Myopia – a condition in which the vision of objects at a distance is not optimal; also called nearsightedness
- Presbyopia – a condition in which the eye's lens becomes rigid making it difficult for the patient to focus on objects which are near
