When is LASEK the Right Choice?

As with any laser eye surgery, the right choice for you should be discussed with your doctor. However, there are certain people who may benefit from LASEK when compared to others. If you are over 18 and your cornea has bends or irregularities in it, such as a corneal curve, then LASEK may be the choice for you. If your cornea is too flat or thin for LASIK, then LASEK may be your choice. If your cornea is too steep for LASIK, then LASEK may be the right procedure for you also. If your ophthalmologist has determined that you are not a candidate for LASIK, discuss the possibility of LASEK.
